Sweet Soy Tempeh



  • 300g Organic Tempeh

  • 4 tbsp mirin

  • 4 tbsp tamari

  • 4 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar

  • 1 knob of ginger

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil


  1. Cut the tempeh into 1cm cubes

  2. finely peel & chop the ginger and garlic

  3. mix all remaining ingredients in a bowl except for the sesame oil 

  4. marinate the tempeh for at least an hour - or overnight 

  5. heat the sesame oil in a pan on a medium/high heat

  6. remove the tempeh from the marinade and fry until crispy on all sides

  7. pour the marinade into the pan and allow to simmer until it reduces down and begins to  caramelise, you will need to stir it a couple of times. Serve with rice and veggies or anything you like :)
